BOOT SOLE SEPARATION (Hydrolysis)
Hydrolysis is a normal material aging process that occurs in all footwear with a cushioned PU midsole independent of the manufacturer.
Sole units will degrade if your footwear is used only occasionally and is stored for long periods of time.
Sole units degrade faster if the footwear is not worn regularly. When a PU midsole begins to deteriorate, you'll see small cracks along the injection area, above the sole unit. This is an indication that your boots are wearing out.
Taskforce Distribution Ltd has approved repair companies (listed below), where footwear can be sent for re-treading. Models suitable for re-soling are the Mountain Boot GORE-TEX®, Combat Boot GORE-TEX®, Mega Camp, Patrol and Super Camp. For any other models please contact Task Force Distribution Ltd direct to arrange an individual quote. Task Force Distribution Ltd recommends the companies below that can carry out a fully professional repair service, which includes the full replacement of the sole unit with the approved and genuine LOWA branded Vibram® Tsavo sole unit. A full retread gives renewed grip and can increase the life expectancy of your LOWA footwear. The replacement of the rubber rand can also be undertaken. The companies can also undertake repairs on some lacing systems: closed hook, open hook or d rings.
