Though similar aesthetically, the LOWA Ronan Mid TF MF Tactical Boot differs from the LOWA Ronan GTX® in several key areas. For instance, the GORE-TEX® membrane has been replaced in favour of a standard fabric lining and the Vibram® Vialta sole has been traded in for a LOWA Rana sole. Completely free from any metallic components, a lot of effort has been spent keeping the weight of these LOWA Ronan boots to a minimum. Despite being 200g lighter than their counterpart these boots do not compromise the support or protection offered to their wearers.
The LOWA Rana sole is as capable as any Vibram alternative providing remarkable grip. Made from soft rubber to ensure comfort, the LOWA Rana is a multifunctional sole that excels in a wide range of environments, allowing it to contribute to the overall versatility of these tactical boots. These soles are joined to the boot’s full-grain leather uppers using the slip-lasted construction method. Full-grain leather is a durable, hard-wearing material that offers a decent level of protection against abrasions, as well as a respectable degree of water resistance. When cared for properly, the life-span of full-grain leather can be measured in years and its already attractive visual qualities will only improve with use.
One of the unique things about the LOWA Ronan Mid TF MF is its use of LOWA-exclusive Monowrap® technology. This technology is a major part of what allows these tactical boots to remain so robust, as it provides a support frame that focuses on areas that require reinforcement most. The Ronan tactical boot also comes with a hard nylon stabiliser built into it, designed to efficiently assist wearers carrying out strenuous activities over rugged terrain.
Available in UK sizes 6.5 to 12 & 13 the black LOWA Ronan Mid TF MF Tactical Boots belong to the Task Force Collection. If you require boots similar to these but with greater water-resistant properties, you may want to consider the LOWA Renegade GORE-TEX® MID TF Boots.
