Designed to be worn comfortably with boots, Bridgedale Midweight Stormsock boot socks are waterproof, remarkably resilient, and cushioned throughout. Each sock is made using 3 layers that work together to keep feet dry and reduce the onset of discomfort and fatigue. These three layers also help to keep the wearer's feet insulated, which makes them perfect for hiking, cycling and running and other similar outdoor activities.
Each one of the Bridgedale Midweight Stormsock Boot Sock's three layers brings its own unique benefits to ensure wearers enjoy the best possible experience. The inner layer, primarily made up of Merino Wool, provides comfort and warmth, as well as anti-bacterial and anti-odour properties. In addition to Merino Wool, the inner layer is also comprised of high-quality Polyester and Nylon, both of which lend their moisture-wicking properties to the sock. This is a particularly useful feature, as it effectively draws unwanted moisture away from the skin. By doing so, the onset of discomfort and bad odours is reduced and wearers are less likely to experience blisters and sores.
The outer layer is made up of 95% Nylon and 5% Elastane and is designed to protect and augment the Polyurethane (PU) Hydrotech membrane. Without it, the PU membrane would rub against the inside of the boot or shoe being worn with the sock and gradually wear away. Waterproof and breathable, these Hydrotech membranes complement the qualities offered by the Bridgedale Stormsock's inner-layer and work well with the Gore-Tex membranes found in many LOWA Boots.
In addition to these qualities and features, Bridgedale Stormsock Heavyweight Waterproof Boot Socks offers "class-leading stretch" so that they are easy to put on. Having said that, wearers will also benefit from a "performance fit", flat toe seam and elastic arch support that collectively guarantee socks won't move or bunch-up while worn
