By using LOWA’s direct-injection technology to directly attach the upper to the sole with a layer of PU cushioning there are countless improvements in almost every metric.
The PU cushioning layer excels in many of the areas - simply using glue can create problems. PU cushioning counters an area of weakness in the boots’ construction by making the attachment seamless, increasing the longevity of the boots. It also removes the need for a stiffening board which gives two benefits to users, an increased level of flexibility and a lighter overall boot, both of which are core tenets of the LOWA Renegade range. Combining the PU layer with MONOWRAP® frame construction allows us to lower weight while giving more balanced support to the foot, something that is further built on by using a dual-layer of direct injection to implement one layer of support PU and one layer of cushioning PU.
All of this is improved through the choice of materials the LOWA Renegade is constructed with. An upper of premium full-grain or nubuck leather gives a supportive and supple fit that shapes itself to your feet as you wear them in, increasing the comfort with each subsequent outing. This is supported by one of the most successful collaborations in boot making history, LOWA and the Gore-Tex® lining. Combining LOWA’s years of boot manufacturing expertise with Gore-Tex® engineering and quality has helped to produce some of the most widely respected and well-regarded military and hiking boots in the world and the LOWA Renegade is no exception. The Gore-Tex® lining combined with both full-grain and nubuck leather gives wearers complete confidence in the weatherproofing and comfort of the LOWA Renegade, both of which are invaluable in a multitude of scenarios.

With so many people wanting to wear Renegades we’ve had to ensure that we have a boot to fit any foot shape. This means you can also find the LOWA Renegade built on a women’s Last. As men and women tend to have different shaped feet, we’ve produced a women’s Renegade specifically tailored towards a women’s foot shape.
We also produce the Renegade in a regular, wide, and slim variant in order to make sure everyone can find a boot that fits them and their feet perfectly.
