LOWA Boot Spotlight: The LOWA Innox GTX® Range

At Taskforce Distribution we completely agree with the founder of LOWA, Lorenz Wagner, that the men and women performing tough jobs that require Lowa footwear deserve the best footwear possible to ensure comfort, fit and protection.

Let's put the spotlight on and take a look at the LOWA Innox GTX range, there’s the new LOWA Innox Pro GORE-TEX Mid TF Boot in Black and Coyote OP, the LOWA Innox GORE-TEX Mid S3 Safety Boots in Black Grey, and finally the now-discontinued LOWA Innox Boots Black GORE-TEX and Coyote Tan GORE-TEX.

The Design

The most obvious feature to look at on the LOWA Innox GTX Range is the GORE-TEX lining. The GORE-TEX boot range uses two different types of GTX, the first being GTX extended comfort footwear and the GTX performance comfort footwear.

The boot’s lining is made up of a two-layer lining material that is then bonded to the GORE-TEX membrane to create the footwear system and keep the LOWA boots waterproof and breathable. A great feature for people who are carrying out a range of activities in different environments, such as walking over the moors and through streams. The difference between the extended comfort system and the performance comfort system is that the performance system is better suited to changing weather and a wide range of activities, so it’s no surprise that this is why it’s used in the LOWA Innox Mid S3 Safety Boots GORE-TEX.

The Fit

Both the LOWA Innox Boots and the Innox Pro GORE-TEX Mid Boot, share the same features when it comes to the lacing system. They both include a closed hook and fabric loop for the laces to be weaved into, which helps to avoid things getting caught in your boots when out on a mission. In turn, avoiding injuries that could be caused by tripping over things that have got caught up in the laces of alternative boots.

Every boot in the Innox GTX range is a mid boot, which is one of the most popular types of boots people buy thanks to the lightweight that they provide, whilst also still providing well-needed support to your ankle. Thanks to the support frame in the LOWA Innox Pro GORE-TEX boot it’s higher wrap web construction is great support for off-trail and backcountry use. As well as providing support to the ankle the LOWA Innox Pro has a flexible stiffness to the boot which supports a foot's natural rolling properties, which is no wonder they are under the multifunction boots category with LOWA.

LOWA Innox In Action

Both the LOWA Innox Pro GORE-TEX boots and the LOWA Innox GTX boots, are below 1kg for a pair meaning they would be a suitable consideration for anyone looking for a lightweight GORE-TEX boot. However, if you are looking for a GTX work or safety boot that is lighter than a steel midsole then the LOWA Innox Mid S3 Safety Boots GTX would be for you. As a result of the penetration protection being metal-free, this also makes the boot more flexible as well as lightweight, whilst providing the same level of protection that a steel midsole boot would.
