Renowned for being the UK’s largest outdoor industry exhibition, 2017 marks the 12th OTS and with over 100 exhibitors and 500 brands present it promised to be one of the best yet.
In addition to exhibiting a variety of brands and products, the OTS also played host to the UK Outdoor Industry Awards. 2017 was the third year in a row that the awards have taken place and for the first time ever, all visitors to the Outdoor Trade Show were able to vote for their favourite new product in all ten categories. Every vote cast contributed to the final decision made by the awards panel of judges, with the finalists announced during the OTS Party on the evening of the exhibition’s second day.
The Outdoor Industry Awards judging panel was made up of leading industry experts; including JD Sports’ Lee Bagnall, Anthony Greasby from Countryside Ski & Climb, Trail’s Ben weeks, Outdoor Enthusiast Retailer’s Tom Hutton, and Will Renwick from Outdoors Magic. These industry judges were joined by Outdoor Industry Awards representative, Claire Carter; a renowned film producer, writer, and director of the award-winning Kendal Mountain Festival.
Of the 101 products put forward, only 31 were able to make it through to the final and understandably, the category we kept the closest eye on was footwear. The three products that made it through to the finals of the 2018 UK Outdoor Industry Awards Footwear category were the Garmont Sticky Stone GTX Climbing Shoe, the Hanwag Tatra GTX trekking boot, and the Tecnica Forge Outdoor boots. Though all rather different from one another, the one thing all three have in common is a Gore-Tex membrane lining for enhanced comfort and performance; a feature shared by many boots in the LOWA Task Force Collection.
LOWA Military Boots At OTS 2017
Located at Stand 170 in the far left corner of Hall 2, Task Force Distribution was at The Outdoor Trade Show exhibiting a range of LOWA Military boots - including the upcoming SS18 collection. Comprised of combat, tactical and safety boots, the footwear that makes up the LOWA Task Force Collection is designed to strike the perfect balance between function, durability and comfort, making them the ideal choice for long-term outdoor use.
In addition to our usual offerings, we showcased some of the latest colours of LOWA boots so that those who visited our stand could get a look at them up close. The Coyote OP versions of the classic LOWA Zephyr GTX, LOWA Z8S GTX and the LOWA Innox boot models were present at our stand, as well as the same models in Wolf Grey that made their debut at the Security & Counter-Terror Expo back in May.
